SGRI Project

Working collaboratively with SGRI Europe GmbH, the European subsidiary of the State Grid Corporation of China’s (SGCC) Smart Grid Research Institute (SGRI), project ”Hydrogen Energy Storage System – Key Technologies and Its Application in Renewable Energy Resource Integration” will focus on hydrogen production via water electrolysis using renewable electricity. Research includes modelling and simulation of the renewable hydrogen storage system, investigating the impact of fluctuated renewable electricity generation on the catalyst used in electrolyser as well as the performance of the electrolyser, and looking into integration and control of the hydrogen storage system.

This is an 18 month project and is led by Dr. Fan Zhang with Jon Maddy and Dr. Stephen Carr.
